At least eight people have died in a car accident in the Gamo Zone of South nations and nationalities regional state, Fana Broadcasting reports.
The accident happened yesterday when a minibus traveling from Gerese to Aribaminich, was felt over near Arba Minchzuria woreda in a place called Kola Shelle, according to commander Reta Tekilu zone police head.
According to police, 13 other passengers are receiving treatment in Arba Minich hospital after sustaining light and heavy injuries from the accident.
Police said the cause of the car accident is under investigation.

Though Ethiopia has one of the lowest per capita car ownership in the world, deadly traffic accidents are fairly common, with the blame put on bad roads, flawed driving license issuance system and lax enforcement of safety rules.
