Ethio-telecom CEO, Frehiwot Tamiru said the increasing number of damages are challenging the organization to provide quality service and expand its reach.

In the last six consecutive months, telecommunication infrastructures faced 547 damages of which 90 percent were caused by negligence and about 46 percent were destroyed deliberately for personal gain, according to her.
She also said the organization has lost over 100 million birr due to damage to infrastructure in this specific time.
This is an equivalent amount of money needed to open 25 mobile service stations, she said.
According to the chief executive, the number of infrastructure damage increased by 34 percent compared to the same period last year.
Finally, she urged the general public to protect telecom infrastructure from damage.
