Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Sunday has warned those conspiring against national unity and insecurity in the country to restrain from their action or will face the full force of the law.
Abiy’s warning comes after a recent violent attack that left 86 people dead and ruined several businesses in various areas in the country.
He said that the government is ready to take necessary measures against perpetrators who involved in instigating violence.
The Prime Minister said in his statement “We should stop those forces that holding back our steps as we are moving forward to achieve our goals.”
The recent violence in some parts of the country “knocked-out everyone’s door and the crime figures are shameful,” he said.
The government will not shirk from its responsibility of protecting the people and their properties, Prime Minister Abiy said.
He warned that the government is of zero tolerance for endangering the country’s unity and his government will take irreversible measures against anyone that endangers Ethiopia’s peace and stability.
