Amhara Democratic Party has decided to nominate Temesgen Tiruneh, the national security advisor of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for the post of Amhara region president, ADP announced Today.
Previously Temesgen Tiruneh was served in various federal and regional government positions including as East Gojjam Zone administrator, Director at Ethiopian National Security Agency (INSA).
Following the June 22 killings of killing the president of the Amhara region, Ambachew Mekonnen and two aides the regional government is being led by the Vice President Lake Ayalew.
Temesgen Tiruneh has earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a masters in Organizational leadership.
The party has also appointed Yohannes Buayalew, deputy head of Amhara Democratic Party (ADP) central committee office.
Similarly, Temesgen Tiruneh, who is now tipped as the next president and Agegnehu Teshager, who replaced Bir-Gen Asaminew Tsegie, will be joining both the ADP Executive Council (EC) as well as EPRDF’s EC representing ADP.
