Tigray regional state has granted amnesty for more than two thousand prisoners on the occasion of the 31 st Martyrs’ Day.
The pardon is given, according to the behavioral improvement of the inmates during their time in prisons, according to Amanuel Assefa, head at region’s Justice Bureau.
Previously the regional government freed prisoners who fulfilled conditions according to the FDRE Constitution.
The prisoners will join their families and the community starting from today.
