The Ethiopian government decided to split the state-run Ethio Telecom, the country’s only telecoms provider into two separate companies before selling off some shares to local and international investors.
According to Fana broadcasting corporate, the government’s plan to split the business is to lure the interest of companies.
After the split Ethio TElecom will have two business units by the name Infrastructure and service sector lines, according to FBC.
In recent days, Ahmed Side, Ethiopia’s finance minister says the government is finalizing preparation to privatize some state-owned entities.
