A forest fire that has burned for more than five days in Semen, still covers around 7000ha and it expands down the cliff, according to Park officials.

Ethiopia’s is facing an emergency once again as its highest mountain chain, the Semien Mountains which is one of the major tourist attractions in the country is burning again.
After the fire gets expanded and damaged many parts of the park, the government has promised to bring aircraft to help control the fire.
Local media reported that five fire extinguishing helicopters would arrive in the place, as South Africa is agreed to lend them, yet no they still not arrived.
A technical committee from different sectors including BAhirdar University is formed to identify ways to control the fire, Fana broadcasting reports.
