The Ethiopian Consulate in Jeddah in close coordination with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has repatriated 450 Ethiopian nationals who have been living in the Kingdom without residence permits.
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport on March 15, 2019, they were received by Director General of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yohannes Shode and representatives of IOM.
Another round of 450 Ethiopian nationals are expected to arrive home from Saudi Arabia on Sunday, March 1, 2019.
The repatriation has come as part of the government’s commitment to prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens.
