Huawei one of the global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider announces the closing of 2018/19 ICT competition in Ethiopia.
In a closing ceremony held at Harmony hotel today, Huawei announced the completion of the second ICT Skills Competition in Ethiopia.
The three months nationwide competition was organized by Huawei Ethiopia, in collaboration with Chinese Embassy officials, Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MoSHE).
The Huawei ICT competition engaged over 4000 students from twenty (20) academic institutions to participate in Huawei’s ICT competition, which tested the ICT capacity of students and teachers across the country.
The competition was the collaborative effort among government institutions, academy and the IT industry sector, which provided the chance for students to compete, receive new ICT technology transfers and improved ICT curriculum for the universities.
The completion also provided students and teachers with a platform to showcase their ICT skills and future employment opportunities for students.
“We are very happy to provide such a unique opportunity for students and teachers to interact with their peers and upgrade their ICT skills, said Huawei Ethiopia Director, Ted Mengyu.
“At Huawei, we believe that the ICT competition’s main input is to ultimately support the growth of the ICT industry in Ethiopia. By participating, students and teachers gain valuable experience and a chance to discover the latest ICT knowledge and trends” said the Director.
During the closing ceremony, Huawei officials performed an award ceremony for students, instructors and academic institutions.
