Dairy Solutions, New Zealand’s dairy brand known for distributing milk, dairy products, and Food Service items set to begin operations in Ethiopia.
Derek Fetzer, CEO of the company, met with Jemal Bekiri, state minister at Ministry of Innovation and Technology to discuss on ways to start production in Ethiopia.
In addition to the company has a plan to product cattle feeds which improve milk quality and production, Derek sated during the discussion.
Ethiopia wants to learn more experiences about dairy production from New Zealand, and the nation has a plan to support the agriculture sector with the latest technologies, said Jemal.
New Zealand is one of the world’s largest producer of cow’s milk and has the world’s highest level of dairy self-sufficiency, due to favorable natural conditions for dairy production, and a small population.
Dairy accounts for approximately 20% of New Zealand’s total goods and services export earnings.
In 2015 Anchor, New Zealand’s oldest dairy brand has opened up new markets with its first consumer foray into Ethiopia with products geared to market needs.
