368 Ethiopians Detained in Saudi Arabia Returned Home

Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced yesterday that 368 Ethiopian nationals who have been in prison for a variety of offense in Saudi Arabia are released.

Ambassador Bogale Tolessa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consular and Diaspora affairs head, Yohannes Shonde, Consular affairs director at MoFA, Nebiyat Getachew, the newly appointed spokesperson welcome repatriates at Bole International airport.

The ministry will strengthen its effort to continue citizen-based diplomacy, according to the information from the ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the view to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its citizens, has redoubled its efforts to reach out to its nationals who had been imprisoned in Jeddah.

Months ago 2400 Ethiopian nationals have been released from jails for reasons of clemency and returned home.
