The Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise said it received land to begin the construction of Woreta Dry port in Amhara regional state.
According to Ashebir Nota, acting communication director at the enterprise, construction tender of the project is floated and the construction will is expected to be completed in a short period.
According to the enterprise, Woreta Dry Port is built with a plan to give services for traders want to import and export goods through North West Ethiopia and expected to create market chains with the expanding industrial parks and railway lines.
In addition, the construction of the dry port is expected to create job opportunities.
Currently, seven Dry ports terminals built in Mojo, Kality, Galen, Dire Dawa, Semera, Mekele, are functional in Ethiopia.
