Dire Dawa Police announced the arrest of 84 people inciting violence in the town, Fana Broadcasting reports.
According to police, the arrest is following a conflict in Dire Dawa about 452 kilometers to the south-east of the capital Addis Ababa, when stone was thrown at worshippers who were returning home from Timket Celebration.
Around 84 suspects are arrested and an investigation is conducted said a report from police.
Yesterday police said peace is restored in the town, however, sources told Dire Tube that the city was rocked by protest and conflicts.
Roads were blocked with burning tires and gunfire was heard across the city, said an eye witness.
According to social media reports, groups that seem to have interest in reversing the course Ethiopia is going through have clandestinely organized youth groups to actively instigate conflict which they intend to give it an appearance of an ethnic-based conflict.
