Following the violence and protest in the region, leaders of the Afar National Democratic party sat together to discuss regional issues in Addis Ababa.
According to a report from ENA, the officials disclosed the decision s they have reached after their discussions.
They have decided to resolve regional problems in their ways, the report adds.
The party has also announced that there will be leadership replacement and reshuffle in the region.
In recent months protests and violence were seen from different parts of the region including Semera, the capital city.
It was reported that people were died and hurt in towns host public demonstrations.
Afar People’s Party says Ethiopia currently undergoes under reform, the people of Afar region are still under repression.
Afar people are thus struggling for and would like the current reform agenda in Ethiopia to be also carried out in their region.
Similarly, many in Gambella were protesting over the local government demanding the justice and economic benefits.
