Abdi Mohamed Omer is arrested, the former president Somali regional state is arrested at his home founds in Addis Ababa, around Atlas, the state media reported today.
Following an organized attack by his Liyu Force and the Youth Group in the region, the Federal government deployed defense force to the region.
On 6 August 2018, Abdi Mohamoud Omar resigned as President of the Somali region amid violence in Somali’s capital Jigjiga.
After holding discussions with central committee of the party, Ethiopian Somali People’s Democratic Party removed 8 members from membership.
It is also reported that Somali Regional State lifts Immunity from prosecution of seven members of the regional parliament.
Suspection related to criminal connection with recent the violence and attack which lost lives in the region last this month.
Human rights violation, instigating conflicts between ethnics and religions, and other crimes are mentioned as reasons for his arrest, according to Attorney General.
The police is also arresting other individuals suspected of links with him involved in the same criminal acts in the region.
