Azeb Asnake chief executive director of Ethiopian Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation is removed from her position according to media reports.
Following her removal, Abraham Belay (Ph.D.) replaced her and named ahead of the corporation, according to Misikir Negash, communication director of the corporation.
Reason for her dismissal from her position remains uncleared.
In a letter written and signed by Ambassador Girma Birru, board chair of the corporation, Abraham, replaced Azeb Asnake (Eng) the former head of the corporation.
Before his assignment, he has served as deputy director at Siber Technology Institute of Information Network Security Agency.
After completing his BSC study in electrical engineering from Defence University, he has attended his MSC in Electrical computer engineering from AAU and acquire his doctorate from Philipines’s Bulakan states University in Business Administration.
Azeb was appointed CEO of Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) two years ago. The company is responsible for the construction and operation of generation, transmission, and substation mega projects.
Azeb joined the Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority as a junior engineer, after her graduation from Addis Ababa University with a BSc in civil engineering.
After serving in different positions in the Authority, Azeb has reached in the position of head of the engineering department.
Then Azeb is transferred to Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, where she was assigned manager of the Gibe III Hydroelectric Power Project that has a designed generation capacity of 1870 MW.
