A delegation from Ethiopia’s Amhara Regional State is headed to Asmara for an official visit today on Aug 15, 2018.
The delegation will hold talks with President Isaias Afwerki on various topics, according to Amhara Mass Media Agency.
Last week Workneh Gebeyehu (PhD), Foreign Minister and Lemma Megersa the Oromia Region State President Lemma Megersa made a successful visit to Eritrea.
Apart from meeting with Issaias Afeworki the president of State of Eritrea, the two government officials held talks with Dawud Ibssa, head of the Oromo Liberation Front, who is in exile in Asmara.
After Ethiopia and Eritrea signed a peace agreement in Asmara to normalize relation government the two countries resume flights and are in a process to commence road transportation with the aim of creating a tie between people of the two countries.
Recently, the Tigray Peoples’ Liberation Front (TPLF) Chairman, Debretsion Gebremichael said that the two countries armies were in ‘friendly’ daily talks at the border and hoped that Eritrea would open cross-border trade between the neighboring communities.
Following the peace rapprochement between the two brotherly nations, which came true breaking the hostility, families from both countries traveled to meet their relatives in the states.
Public and business delegations of the two nations pay a visit and hold discussions on how to strengthen social and economic ties between people.
The current Afar, Ethio-Somalia, and Southern region state leaderships have visited Eritrea.
